What is InvokED?
InvokED is an annual convening hosted by ShikshaLokam that brings together samaaj, sarkaar, bazaar, and sanchaar (including leaders, educators, system stakeholders, civil society organisations, policymakers, and partners) working to improve education systems. InvokED 5.0 was organised in Bengaluru on 6–7 February 2026. The convening focuses on discussing education leadership and collective action for transforming public education systems. The convening also is a space that celebrates the growing momentum of Shikshagraha, the movement for education equity. It creates a shared space where practitioners and system actors exchange experiences, reflect on challenges, and explore new possibilities for children’s learning and development.
Brain Dates: A Space to Learn, Reflect, and Provoke
InvokED is designed as a space for collective reflection on education leadership and systemic change. To enable meaningful dialogue among participants, the convening uses multiple formats such as plenary sessions, leadership spotlights, experience zones, and smaller dialogue spaces.
One such format is Brain Dates, which creates focused spaces for participants to engage deeply with specific themes emerging in education.
What are Brain Dates?
Brain Dates are partner-led dialogue spaces designed for small-group conversations around specific themes.
- It brings people together to learn from one another through open conversation and shared experience. They create a space where participants pause, listen with curiosity, and reflect on complex questions shaping the future of learning.
- Educators, practitioners, students, community members, and system actors share ground realities, challenges, and emerging practices from their contexts.
- The conversations are also designed to provoke new questions, challenge assumptions, and surface patterns across different experiences.
- Through this collective reflection, participants gain insights that feel practical, relatable, and rooted in lived realities, helping them imagine new possibilities for children and learning.
The Brain Dates at InvokED 5.0 focused on Future Readiness.
The theme explored how education systems can prepare children to navigate a rapidly changing world shaped by technological shifts, social transformations, and environmental challenges.
Brain Dates at InvokED 5.0
At InvokED 5.0, four Brain Dates conversations were organised around themes related to future readiness. Each Brain Date was anchored by partner organisations working in that area and brought together participants from across the education ecosystem for focused dialogue and reflection. Across the four conversations, a total of 137 participants engaged in these discussions.
The Brain Dates’ themes were as follows:
- Growing Questions in STEM and Responsible AI
- In Their Shoes: Rethinking Childhood Through Inclusion
- Nurturing Student Agency and 21st Century Skills in Classrooms
- Growing Environmental Consciousness Through Collective Action
