What We Do

What We Do

How can we grow all students holistically so they can shape a better future?

Our work is designed to make progress towards a shared learning agenda guided by this question and its implications across different levels of education systems.

In Classrooms & Schools

What is happening in classrooms where students are developing holistically?

What distinguishes teachers who  support students’ holistic development — and how do they think, act, and measure success?

Based on insights emerging from collective studies of transformational classrooms around the world, the Teaching As Collective Leadership (TACL) framework was developed to grow students as leaders of a better future for themselves, for their communities, and for all of us.

Across Systems & Communities

What is happening in places where collective leadership is developing towards system change?

What defines collective leadership that drives systems change — and how can we understand and measure its impact?

Our report, The Missing Piece: Developing Collective Leadership to Transform Education, brings together what we have learned from hundreds of leaders from across our network about what is at work in the communities and systems that are making progress towards ensuring that all children learn.

As Individuals & Collectively

How can we develop collective leadership to shift classrooms and systems?

What are the individual and collective capacities needed?  What learning conditions and experiences enable holistic growth for all — teachers, students, and communities?  And how do we measure progress in developing leadership of self, others, and the world?
